restoration type description
straight transfer (copy) On LP’s, 12 inch singles and 45’s a dry cleaning – using a carbon fibre brush is performed.  78’s are brush cleaned and examined for type to determine proper equalization.  They are eq’d and  transferred without further processing.  CD is checked before shipment.  The CD tracks are marked for easy selection (indexed) and the CD cover includes the Artist name and song list. This service is recommended for records that are in mint shape – or people who wish an un-altered version of the disk for further editing at a later date.  This is a very economical way to transfer your music with good results.
record restoration level 1 On LP’s, 12 inch singles and 45’s, level 1 includes a VPI wet vacuum cleaning.  A light level of automated noise removal is performed.  This will remove light pops, crackles as well as hiss.  On 78’s the cleaning is more aggressive – and wet cleaning is performed where possible.  This provides a better sounding, less distorted transfer.
This service is recommended for records that are  in very good shape which will become part of your CD playback collection.  Tracks are marked (indexed) for easy selection.  The CD is normalized.  The CD is checked before shipment.  The original record is returned in a new inner sleeve.
record restoration level 2 On LP’s, 12 inch singles and 45’s, level 2 includes a VPI wet vacuum cleaning.  A more vigorous level of automated noise removal is performed.  Some manual noise removal is used – as required.  This may include removal of pops, crackles, hum, hiss, DC offset and other surface noise.  On 78’s the cleaning is still more aggressive – and wet cleaning is performed where possible.  This provides a better sounding, less distorted transfer.
This service is recommended for records that are  in slightly used shape which will become part of your CD collection.  Tracks are marked for easy selection (indexing).  The CD is normalized.  The CD is checked before shipment.  The original record is returned in a new inner and outer sleeve.
record restoration level 3 On LP’s, 12 inch singles and 45’s level 3 includes a wet vacuum cleaning.  A manual inspection of each track is performed.  The amount of noise reduction and processing is then determined individually  and applied separately to each track.  This may include removal of pops, crackles, hum, hiss, DC offset and other surface noise.  This is performed on badly damaged records that need to be restored no matter how much work is required to provide a useable sound.  This will remove most pops, crackles, hum and hiss.  On 78’s the cleaning is still more aggressive – and wet cleaning is performed where possible.  This provides a better sounding, less distorted transfer. This service is recommended for records that are  in fairly used shape which are required for performance groups or other professional or semi professional companies.  Tracks are marked for easy selection (indexing).  The CD is normalized.  The CD is checked before shipment.  The original record is returned in a new inner and outer sleeve.
straight tape transfer Straight transfer performed.  CD is checked before shipment. This is a very economical way to transfer the tape if no further processing is required.
tape restoration level 1 Includes noise reduction.  Tracks are marked for easy selection (indexing).  CD is normalized.  CD is checked before shipment.
tape restoration level 2 Includes level 1 plus compression/limiting and other processing as required.
