how to order

Below is a brief description of how to order from us. Included is the method of payment we accept as well as some shipping tips. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 204-586-6144 or email [email protected].

1 – Go to the download forms page.  Find the form that best describes the service you desire – and download that form.  You will notice that directly underneath is a sample “filled out” version of that form.  If you need help filling out your form, download and print out the sample version as well.

2 – If you are purchasing transfer / restoration services from us, you will also be downloading and printing the Agreement for Services Provided page. This is the agreement that must be filled out with your transfer / restoration order. Read it carefully, and if you agree with the terms and conditions, please fill it out completely, including the initials. We will not proceed with any transfer / restoration services until this form is in our hands, filled out completely and signed.

3 – Complete the order form by filling in as much detail as you can. If you are not sure of the level of restoration that you will need, please see the levels of restoration page. If, after reading that page, you are still not sure, then, check the not sure box. Once we have examined the records / tapes, we will let you know the level that we recommend. We will let you know our findings and calculate the final cost. We will only proceed after getting your OK. You do not need to fill in the price sheet. It is there for your reference – only.

4 – Please mark all your records and tapes with Post-it notes to let us know what to do with each one.  You can put a number on each Post-it note and reference that number on the order form.  This will help us confirm the work with the descriptions you entered in the order form.  Don’t worry about giving us too much detail.  We like details.

5 – If you are sending the records and tapes to us by post or courier, please see our postage and shipping page for helpful instructions on the proper way to package your valuable and fragile records. Please do not underestimate the importance of this section. Most shipments are handled very badly by companies such as UPS ground and most of the other carriers. That’s just a fact of life. The only way these records are going to get to us in one piece is by packaging them properly.

If you are personally dropping off your records and tapes, we suggest that you at least carry them in a shopping bag or box. For 78’s this is a whole different matter. 78’s are extremely fragile – and can break just by the way they are held in your hand. I strongly recommend that you get a box that will keep them safe while on your way here. If you need such a box, we have many sizes and styles available – just for this purpose.

For out-of-town orders we have shipping “kits” available for records and tapes. They are about $ 4-6 each. These kits include a solid corrugated cardboard box, packing materials and record sleeves. We can send these to you – so that you don’t have to hunt for them yourself. Let us know if you need a kit.

6 – Place the filled out forms in a separate, labeled envelope and include the envelope in your parcel. Do not include any payment, yet.

8 – We will verify the work and figure our the exact cost (including shipping, if applicable). We will contact you with the exact price and wait for you to OK the work. An invoice will be sent or emailed to you. The work will begin after we have received payment in full.

9 – A typical order of 6 albums or less, takes approximately 2 weeks at our lab. Larger orders typically take 3 – 4 weeks. Shipping out of province can take 4 – 10 days. We will email you when the finished order has been sent.
